Razia Sheikh Welfare Trust

Razia Sheikh Welfare trust Eye Hospital was established on 8th September 1992 by Ms. Razia Sheikh (late) who retired as headmistress of a well-known school. She was eager to work for the welfare of underprivileged people. She established a trust as a NPO to fulfill her dream.

The trust was registered as a NPO under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control) Ordinance, 1961 on 3rd December, 1992. Ms. Razia Shiekh (late) started the trust as an eye dispensary with two rooms of her house. In 1993 she dedicated her property, a 10 Marla house, to the trust for this purpose.

The objective of the Razia Sheikh Eye Hospital is to provide free of cost eye care facilities to the underserved and underprivileged community. It is a Lahore based registered trust with the aim of catering to patients with various ophthalmological diseases. At the trust, we believe in improving quality of life by providing the best eye care facilities through state-of-the-art technology and expertise.

Ms. Razia Shiekh passed away on 20th July, 1998. After her death, the trust’s patronage was handed over to the Board of Trustees which includes prominent Eye specialists, Businessmen, Educationists and Professional people from other walks of life.

The prime focus of Razia Sheikh Welfare Trust is our patient. We believe in delivering the best experience to all our patients through respect, compassion and empathy which is inculcated in all our endeavors. Due to this very reason patients come from all over Pakistan to avail free treatment at the Razia Sheikh Eye Hospital. We are serving the impoverished sections of society by providing them the best care available regardless of their ability to pay.

Over the last 29 years, Razia Sheikh Welfare trust has seen over 970,000 patients and conducted over 30,000 major and minor surgeries. The Hospital caters to an average 300 - 350 patients daily and performs 100 - 120 cataract surgeries per week, with numbers increasing every year. We strongly believe that whatever little we are doing for the community will go a long way and this feat would not have been possible without the support and generous help of our valuable donors in the form of medicines, lenses, equipment and cash donations.
