Our Founder
Ms. Razia Sheikh The Visionary
In 1992, Ms. Razia Sheikh, a retired school headmistress with a heart full of compassion, established this welfare trust in two small rooms. She believed that every person, regardless of their economic status, deserved access to quality eye care.
What began as a simple eye dispensary quickly grew into a beacon of hope. In 1993 she dedicated her property, was dedicated to expand the clinic's capacity and services. Ms. Sheikh's dedication was unwavering, and her legacy became the foundation of our mission.
Though she passed away in 1998, Ms. Razia Sheikh's vision continues through our team of 41 dedicated professionals. Every day, her spirit guides us as we provide free eye care to those in need.
A Legacy of Care
Our History
Ms. Razia Sheikh passed away on 20th July, 1998. After her death, the trust’s patronage was handed over to the Board of Trustees which includes prominent specialists, businessmen, educationists and professionals from other walks of life.
The prime focus of Razia Sheikh Welfare Trust is our patient. We believe in delivering the best experience to all our patients through respect, compassion and empathy which is inculcated in all our endeavors.
Due to this very reason, patients come from all over Pakistan to avail free treatment at the Razia Sheikh Eye Hospital. We are serving the impoverished sections of society by providing them the best care available regardless of their ability to pay.
Over the last 29 years, Razia Sheikh Welfare Trust has seen over 970,000 patients and conducted over 30,000 surgeries. The hospital caters to an average of 300–350 patients daily and performs 100–120 cataract surgeries per week.
This would not have been possible without the support and generous help of our valuable donors in the form of medicines, lenses, equipment and cash donations.
